Dear Mr. Baelish,

We wholly appreciate your circumstances, and don't begrudge you your attendance in the least. It's unfortunate the timing of it all was unexpectedly terrible, but it seems the nature of this world is to be unpredictable. Nevertheless, we thank you for your very thoughtful and generous gifts. The champagne and chocolates were an indulgence we thoroughly enjoyed during our honeymoon, and we look forward to updating our new lab with essential pieces of equipment here soon.
