The safest way to talk is in person. There are tech savvy people who can get into these communicator conversations, even private ones. I've a friend who can encrypt what is spoken to give it a larger degree of protection, but even still, there are some who can bypass that. It should, however, be safe enough. If you want a safer means of conversing, I can get you what they call a burner phone. From that, no one will be able to trace our conversations.
I didn't want to assume that you would be free to see me today. [ That and she knows Jon will be suspicious if she disappears so soon after their talk. ]
I don't know what a burner phone is but, if you think it would be useful, I would like one. Would it make it easier for you to be honest with me if you felt no one could trace our conversations? I know how you prefer secrecy.
[ How to answer? There's a pause as Petyr considers. ]
That all depends upon the nature of my honesty, sweetling. Some secrets I must keep to myself for fear that they may reach the wrong ears. It should come as no surprise to you that your half brother is trying to interfere in my dealings. He and Lucy are conspiring against me. A fine reward for being the one who got Lucy her ambassadorial position in the first place, I dare say. But a man will always be lured in by the sweet promises of a beautiful woman. And Lucy is the fairest of queens we have -- a fairness that allows for those around her to ignore her true nature.
[ Sansa pauses as well, listening to and considering his response. It seems, to her, that he suspects the reason for her call and she smiles faintly in response. It doesn't surprise her. ]
So it's true? You're interested in my brother's personal affairs and you are watching him?
[ Which she is aware of. She can practically hear the anticipation in his voice. ]
Jon would definitely be one considering everything that you've told me. Jaime Lannister because of who he is and what happened back home. [ The whole Joffrey dying bit. ]
Considering their roles back home, I am curious to see what they will do with their time in this world. And of those that you mentioned, I imagine Daenerys Targaryen will be the one to make more of an impact.
[ He points it out easily enough and wonders if it's a tactic. If she knows she interests him and has chosen to embrace that power or if she doesn't think she would be as interesting of a player to him as those others that she mentioned. ]
And I have. It was impossible not to meet the dragon queen when I had taken her most loyal servant under my employ. At the beginning of this all, it was only Jorah Mormont and I. So we decided to survive together.
[ Sansa has been aware of his interest for awhile but she doesn't know if she believes yet that he might consider her a player. She figures that he might see her more as an ally or watches her out of worry that she might turn against him at some point. ]
I figured that was a given.
[ There might be a small smile in her tone. Maybe. ]
Which makes sense considering the circumstances. I've met her once or twice but I'm not sure what she thinks of me. I feel like I have to be careful around her.
[ She figures she can be that honest with him, at least. ]
[ Perhaps it's not video. But all the same, Sansa's words bring a mirror of a small smile to Baelish's lips. I figured that was a given. She really was coming into her own, wasn't she? ]
That's an astute assumption. Daenerys can be fair and just, but she can also be as tumultuous as the fire her dragons breathe. Best to tread cautiously. Especially since she does have one of those very dragons here in this world.
As far as dragon attacks go, no. Only one person was killed. I believe quite a few buildings were damaged. But when a dragon attacks, you expect there to be far more casualties than one. Daenerys certainly lucked out -- otherwise some might be calling for that dragon of hers to be chained up far, far away from civilization.

[ Some more movement in the background. ]
And these things are safe to talk over, yes?

Daenerys Targaryen.

[ And mostly correct. ]

[ She can tell there might be someone. ]
I would have to agree with you on that front. Have you interacted with her very much?

[ A beat. ]
It rampaged on Nonah once.

I've seen him. There are times when he actually sleeps out behind our home.
[ She hums. ]
I didn't know about the rampage. Was it very bad?
no subject
Certainly not within your backyard.
