Well, our superiority is undeniable. But I do wonder if they can withstand the same sort of mental probing as our imPort counterparts -- if they are equally strong of will, and that was the reason they were able to obtain these new abilities. Or if it was something else entirely.

There are exceptions on both sides, of course. You would especially know who among the imPort community houses the weakest minds.

All the more reason to pursue the containment centers, honestly. But I understand how there might be legal complications.

Not only him, although his presence here has served to be an annoyance. He and Lucy have united -- an alliance that is soon to be a romantic one, I imagine. The results of this have already reared their ugly head when Lucy showed up at my office, interjecting herself into an ongoing conversation I had been having with Jon Snow privately. She truly has no clue on how to conduct politics.

Snow and Lucy? Is that so? Does he normally keep his finger in nobility?

He took a vow of chastity by becoming part of the Night's Watch. It's a group devoted to serving the realm itself rather than any specific king. But I suppose death may have freed him from those bonds. Being as young as he is, no doubt he's starved for female affection. That she is nobility only furthers her appeal.

And if I am to understand correctly, he would be the type to rationalize that his bond has since been excused? Given how his circumstance has changed.

Are you going to use him?

I had planned on it. But I believe he may be more of a nuisance than an aid. Still, I'm always one to keep my options open. So for now, he's merely on standby until I can find some way for him to fit into my game.

For the time being. I would prefer to keep him in my employ, but unfortunately, his loyalties will always lie with Daenerys Targaryen. And I have allied myself with the man who had killed her father. Which may very well complicate things, you understand.

Was she close to her father, then? Because, if so, I certainly understand why you might not be her favorite person. But if not, you've simply cleared her path to power.

Of that, I am uncertain. I do not know how Aerys Targaryen treated his children. But at the time, she was a babe and likely does not recall either. Her father was a mad man who would have leveled the entire city and killed many more. Perhaps one of the worst kings we've had. But she will always house a loyalty toward her bloodline that goes beyond reason.

Her brother is also here now. He is the sort you could potentially see in your hospital.

Her brother? I take it he is the one quite different from her. [Baelish had discussed the recent Targaryen generation, if briefly, and Chilton strove to recall the details.] You are keeping an eye on that one? From the context alone, he sounds menacing.

Ah yes. Viserys Targaryen takes after his father quite a bit. But he can be controlled and appeased by flattery. I'm certain you know the type. Quick to ire but a few well-placed compliments and they are quite ready to do as you wish.

And does he do what you wish? After a well-placed compliment? You must be speaking from experience.

I believe in time he will. In this case, a well-placed compliment showed him I was someone he could trust. But should he prove to be a piece that cannot be used, I trust you will take him off of my hands? No doubt he will showcase his madness to the world well before then. You'll have more than enough proof that he belongs within your containment center.

Construction for it is underway and should be completed within the next month -- barring any incidences. I had hoped you would be willing to donate a few signed copies of your book as well as quite possibly holding a book signing right at the library when it opens. I believe your popularity could generate a great deal of interest within both the imPort and native communities. You are our very first imPort author, after all.
