That all depends on the sort of food in question.

[ Petyr has a feeling he knows. He met one vampire in this world who feeds on the blood of his victims. And likely this is something along those lines. ]

But I do not see where it benefits to punish those of us who choose not to remain registered. Especially those with specialized diets. Hunger can lead a man to extremes. And extremes in the case of imPorts? I would say it's not a wise move on behalf of the government.

Unwise, and immoral. Yet up until now, effective. He has been Registered for years. And in return, the government provided him meals in the form of... human bodies.

[Beat.]

Obtained through humane means only, one hopes.

Human bodies.

[ He repeats -- not in disgust, but wonder. What an oddly specific diet. ]

It would admittedly be interesting to trace the origin of the bodies he was receiving from the government. [ But their own personal gains aside.... ] Is there a requirement? I mean, must these bodies be freshly deceased?

[Dooku is encouraged that Baelish seems intrigued. Not that squeamishness had ever been much of a risk with this one, but some politicians might have found dabbling with ghouls to be too risky from a publicity standpoint...]

There is no requirement that I am aware of. I imagine that like any meat, it is best when not served rotten. Kaneki himself would be able to tell you more- I told him I would contact you to resolve this unfortunate issue.

I have options in mind.

[ His serial killer BFF is the first thought. The second is going through his corrupt police channels. ]

Must he eat daily? Providing remains on a daily basis may prove to be more challenging than say once every three.

He is a disciplined individual. Daily food will not be a necessity.

[Of course, there's a lot Dooku doesn't know about Kaneki's gluttonous side...]

But it is best if he explains his diet to you himself. For now, the knowledge that you are willing to assist is a great comfort. I will remember this kindness, Ambassador.

But of course, I hope this means you would be willing to help me with something as well. Do you know of any technologically inclined imPorts -- I believe the more specific term is 'hackers' -- who can be trusted to do a job they're paid to do and not leak sensitive information outside of that specific job? I tend not to trust their type as their thirst for knowledge seems to be insatiable and there's nothing stopping them from turning on the hand that feeds them.

Of course we must. No one else will.

I would be happy to assist you in contacting such individuals. I can think of a few names already. But it would be easier to guide you if I knew more about the task you have in mind.

[No it wouldn't- Dooku just thirsts for information and power in the same breath. They're often the same thing, after all.]

I assure you, Count Dooku. Once my investigation has yielded solid results, you shall be the first to know of my findings. I believe it would be of utmost interest to you and the things for which you stand. But as of this moment, all I have are not much more than suspicions. Thus why I have need of someone who can search into the technological aspect of things.

[That tells him literally nothing, but he recognizes a wall when he sees one. He will just have to trust that Baelish will keep his promise to share whatever he discovers, which Dooku expects he will. Baelish is not trustworthy by any standard, but he recognizes the value of reciprocity as well as the Count does.]

Very well, Ambassador. There is one person I am aware of who might be of assistance. She calls herself 'Darlene.' I will speak to her first. She can be very... cautious.

Understandably so. In that line of work, one must be cautious to evade detection. Do be certain to tell her I will pay her generously for her aid, and if she does not trust the government -- this may very well be a way to prove her suspicions are indeed completely justified.

[ He will give Dooku that little morsel for the time being. ]
