on the left, prep: gwen with an assortment of lists and receipts and various underlings of different stripes. at one point she's giving security a list of absolutely nots; the same list is given to the team managing donations. meetings with venues, sketches of what she wants. sound checks, run throughs, revolving around a handsome and indeterminately older man in a turtleneck variously at the piano or leaning over her shoulder.
on the right, the event: gwen glittering in something slinky with an ear piece, all eyes on the man of the hour (tuxedo replaces turtleneck, he's added gold rimmed spectacles) who dominates the space and the evening variously from the stage and his grand piano or mingling with the crowd, charismatic and effective, periodically dragging gwen into his sphere and conversations from where she acts as hostess and monitors the smooth running. a tall lighthaired young man in a suit appears occasionally at her elbow, though judging by the shifts in illusion gwen couldn't swear to her recollection of what her date was up to.
in both it's apparent that the charming man with the music is the star (he takes photos with a few people, beaming and half the time taking their phone to get a good angle with his long arms) - and that he's trying without much success to push gwen closer to center stage. )

Most of the events we've run are like this - ticket prices go to charity, then Daddy works on finessing larger donations from attendees. There's a short list of people we invite and comp tickets, but they're reliable donors as well.

I gather that this is a man who prefers unique returns. He has his own issues to address.
The jury remains out on that one. But I have hope.

Ah -- bearing in mind we haven't very hard data on the circumstance, the case studies I have known range from twenty-four hours to a week. On average.
